Reflections on Life in the Ministry

  • The Cycle of Life

Many people think of the cycle of life as experiencing birth, spending time with the people you love (and lots of other things that are personal to them) and ultimately the end our earthly journey. My cycle of life feels backwards to me. Here’s my journey, the ups and the downs. I finished all my…

  • The Sound of Laughter…

This week there has been laughter filling our home since the arrival of our youngest daughter. She joined the Navy, has done all her necessary training. From Norfolk, VA to San Diego, CA, she is on a bit of a break before her first assignment in Jacksonville, FL and then onward. She was my son’s…

Rev. Dr. Kelly Moore is an ordained Moravian pastor serving in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Over her 25+ years of ministry, she has served in a wide variety of ministry settings- from urban to rural, in the north and the south.

In May 2024, she received her Doctorate of Ministry from Hood Theological Seminary. Her focus was on recognizing and understanding the need for clergy to respond to victims of child abuse and neglect in trauma-informed ways. The research showed that there is substantial room for further education of clergy in regard to how they respond to victims of child abuse and neglect with the compassion of Christ.

None of the words is an official statement; I wrote them. If I do use the source will be cited. Also, they are not official statements of the churches I have served, nor are they of the Evangelical Lutheran of America or the Moravian Church. They may express MY emotion; however, they are my original work. And if you cite my blog, I would like to be citrated it and even lead them to this blog
